Hema Majeno, a board-certified physician assistant, has joined staff at Adventist Health/Community Care – Parlier Newmark. Majeno is passionate about caring for families in rural communities.

“This is an area where people don’t have a lot of access to health care or providers,” says Majeno, “so I’m excited to give the community the time and attention it deserves.”

Majeno was born in New Delhi, India, and remembers being very young when she developed an interest in helping others.

“I remember my parents getting me a first-aid kit when I was 6 years old,” she says. “My little brother would accidentally cut himself, and I would help patch his wounds.”

Majeno started her career as an X-ray technologist in India. When she came to the United States, she went back to school and earned an associate degree in radiology technology from Fresno City College. She wanted to do more, so she worked all day and took night classes to get into the physician assistant program at San Joaquin Valley College.

“I want to help people and put a smile on their face,” says Majeno. “In every patient encounter, I try to make a connection with both the patient and their families because that’s how you get to know their entire history.”

Majeno is fluent in Hindi and speaks some Punjabi.

She may be reached at Parlier Newmark, 115 S. Newmark Ave., with a phone number of 559-646-1200.
