Master of Ceremony Bill Parry, the Foundation’s vice president, introduced each of the new members of the Hall of Fame by listing the inductees’ accomplishments and background, beginning with Frances Perkins, a local businesswoman and world-class body builder.
Also on hand was Dr. Elbert Acosta, who traveled the greatest distance, from New Castle, Pennsylvania to accept his award. Longtime legend Bob Clement was on hand to accept his induction into the Hall of Fame. Clement, a longtime teacher, WHC athletic director and this year’s Lemoore Citizen of the Year graciously accepted his honor.
Longtime dentist Allen Short, also a Korean War veteran and former civic leader and volunteer fireman said he felt honored by the award.
This year’s Friend of the Tiger/Gary Sedgwick Award went to longtime coach, teacher and Lemoore High School Trustee Lois Hubanks. The Sedgwick Award, formerly the Friend of the Tiger, was presented to Hubanks for her service over the years.
