Another successful Lemoore Lions Brewfest has come and gone. Over 1,400 thirsty soles braved warm temperatures to partake in the popular gathering at the Lemoore Lions Park off Fox Street on Saturday. The event ran from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
There were also beneficiaries of the Lions’ largess. Two local organizations were the first recipients each receiving checks for $1,000 from the Lions. The checks were presented to them on stage by Lions Club President Adam Vonder Ahe-Cossey. Sergeant Jim Chaney of the Lemoore Police Department accepted a check on behalf of the newly formed Police Athletic League while Kristine Rhoads and Shannon Jacobs were on hand representing Sober Grad.
Chairman Steve Rossi said he was more than pleased with the turnout. “We limit our ticket sales to 1,400 every year and we sold out again,” he said.
Brewfest participants were treated to all forms of food, from corn on the cob to grub from The Chicken Shack. As always the Lions had plenty of cheese and sausage on hand to go along with the many varieties of beer.
