Adventist sets First Friday 'Dealing with Stress'

Most people experience stress in their daily lives, but a tool can help navigate through those challenges.

During the First Friday with a Physician presentation on Dec. 4, family medicine physician Dr. Romeo Castillo will explain a practical way of dealing with stress through mindful practice. He will lay down the foundation of this concept so attendees can cultivate resiliency and deal with stress in a meaningful way.

At the Adventist Health Family Medicine Residency clinic, where Dr. Castillo cares for patients, one of the most common reasons for visits is stress-related conditions.

"We’re living in an age where most people are under a continuous amount of stress," says Dr. Castillo. “But there are ways to interrupt the brain cycle to prevent burnout and build resilience.”

Those who like to attend the First Friday with a Physician presentation, which includes a free, catered lunch, are asked to RSVP by Dec. 2 to ahcvinfo@ah.org or 559-537-1530. Seating is limited.
