Local businessman Buzz Felleke, owner of Joshua’s Roasting Company, has recently acquired a new hefty piece of coffee machinery. This spring, Felleke decided to test out the K-Cup trend by manufacturing, in house by hand, K-Cup pods of his signature Ethiopian coffee, which he calls K-Buzz cups.

In 2012, the original Keurig K-Cup patent had expired, so many other coffee companies got into the K-Cup business. Rebekah’s Espresso customers have been able to purchase Joshua’s Roasting Company K-Buzz cups in bags of 12 since May.

If you walk into Rebekah’s Espresso today, you will see a feat of automated modern coffee engineering magic. The new K-Cup machine can manufacture up to 1,200 pods every hour. Right now, the machine is running virtually every day.

Seven years ago, Buzz partnered with Harris Ranch Inn & Restaurant to distribute his own signature blend of Joshua’s Roasting Company coffee in the Harris Ranch Country Store. Just this year, Buzz went back to Harris Ranch to see if they might be interested in the K-Buzz cups for their hotel rooms.

Today, they are packaging the same Harris Ranch signature blend of Joshua’s Roasting Company coffee into K-Buzz cups with the Harris Ranch logo.

Buzz hopes to expand his K-Buzz cup business to include more hotels and offices in the future.
