Each year, Kings County Congressional Representative David Valadao has the honor of hosting the Congressional Art Competition where high school students from across California's 21st Congressional District get to showcase their creativity and artistic talent.
With the submission deadline quickly approaching, he is encouraging local residents to reach out to any high school students who may be interested in participating. The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity for students to have their work recognized on a national level and the winning artist's work will even be displayed in the United States Capitol.
All artwork and signed release forms must be brought to Valadao’s office in Hanford or Bakersfield offices no later than Friday, April 22, 2016. His office can also make arrangements to pick up artwork at local high schools.
Guidelines and regulations to participate in the competition can be downloaded here while the student release form can be found here. For more information or to arrange local high school pick up, please contact Dixie Lobmeyer in my Hanford office by phone at (559) 582-5526 or by email at Dixie.Lobmeyer@mail.house.gov.
