The Kings County Veterans’ Employment Committee hosted a Job and Resource Fair for veterans, military, National Guard, reservists, and their dependents and survivors this past Thursday at West Hills College.
The Job Fair ran from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. An early morning highlight was the playing of Taps for former West Hills College President Don Warkentin, who passed away recently. Lemoore High School Band Director Shawn McElhaney played taps.
The event was an opportunity to meet with employers who are ready to hire, and public and private agencies eager to help with training and other services. In one easy location, veterans were able to learn about the variety of options available to them, including career, training and education opportunities.
