Community helps Lemoore Christian Aid fill pantry

Lemoore Christian Aid (LCA) is a local non-profit that collects and distributes food and clothing to those in need.
According to John Benton, Executive Director of Lemoore Christian Aid, all of these food donations could not have possibly come at a better time. Lemoore Christian Aid recently took a big leap of faith and increased the frequency with which those in need could come in and pick up supplemental food.
Other than various food drives and donations from individuals and purchases of food through the Fresno Food Bank, LC A also is supported by the profits of ReNewed Thrift Shop, a local shop in Lemoore, which pays for these purchases. Renewed is located at 238 West D Street in Lemoore.
The Dollar Tree drive is done through the Community Food Bank in Fresno, via the Feed America Program. This is Dollar Tree’s second food drive to benefit LCA. The manager, Cheri Borgues, is a huge supporter of the LCA mission to stamp out hunger.
She motivates her store employees to ask each customer if they would like to purchase an item of food for a local food bank. Thus far they have donated over 1,200 items – with two weeks remaining in the drive.
Last week, the Lemoore Post Office held its annual food drive and received donation over 6,600 pound, which nearly doubled last year’s donations.
Lemoore Christian Aid officials remain thankful to all those who donated to help feed those who are in need of food assistance. There is still time to visit the Lemoore Dollar Tree and make a donation.
Lemoore Christian Aid is located at 224 N. Lemoore Ave. in Lemoore
