In an effort to place the spotlight on youth violence, Lemoore’s Last Days Ministries Church held a “Prayer in the Park” in the Lemoore City Park Friday night in an effort to use prayer to stem the threat of youth violence and gang activity.
The successful program brought out about 50 persons to the Lemoore park Friday night where visitors listened to inspiring music and prayed, led by Last Days Ministries District Elder James Jones and Youth Minister Rodney Irven, the organizer of the event.
They were also treated to barbecue hot dogs.
“I have seen a big change in our youth with violence and gang (activity),” said Irven. “So (I got together) a few of my friends from my church Last Days Ministries … and hosted this prayer in the park for our kids and family.”
Irven told The Leader that the church plans to make the “Prayer in the Park” an annual event.
