NAS Lemoore fighter pilots and Nebraska, Purdue alums do flyover at football game

Aurora, Nebraska native Brett Mitchell, currently a Navy pilot stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore gave Nebraska Cornhusker fans the thrill of a lifetime Saturday when he and his fellow pilots flew their F/A-18 Super Hornets over Memorial Stadium prior to Nebraska's football game against Purdue.

Mitchel and wife Katie live in Lemoore and have been stationed her for several years.

Lt. Mitchell, a University of Nebraska alum was in Lincoln Friday providing ROTC students exposure to the world of Naval aviation. Mitchell was joined by Lt. Commander William Frank, a graduate of Purdue, Lt. Cmdr. Scott Sabau, Lt. Daniel Brannan, Lt. Matt Langford all of whom are also stationed at Lemoore.

The pilots’ families will also be in attendance. Once they land their jets at Lincoln Airport just minutes away, they will be whisked to the game.
