The Kings Lions Club celebrated its fourth birthday as members gathered Wednesday night in the Lemoore Civic Auditorium to commemorate the club’s “Charter Night.” Joining the 25 or 30 members were Lions’ District Governor Al Kroell and other dignitaries.
The crowd dined on three different kinds of spaghetti, cooked by Sushi Table’s Sunny Law and gave out a few dollars to local organizations.
Pam Brasil, of the Valley Animal Haven accepted a $1,000 contribution from the local club as did Janet Perez from the Hanford Boxing Club.
The Kings Lions are one of the most active service clubs, of many, in the Lemoore area. One of their chief fundraisers is an annual Brewfest put on each year at the Kings Lions Park at Highway 198 and 19th Avenue.
In addition to the Lions’ dignitaries, Lions heard a short message from invited guest Ani Welsh, Lemoore’s city manager.
This year’s president is Roman Benitez.
