Steady rains the past two days has helped to fill local ponding basins, like this one at the Kings Lions Park.

Kings County and the Lemoore area has received about an inch of rain late Thursday and Friday. The steady downpour has filled local drainage ponds. As of this morning (Jan. 20) the Kings Lions 19th Avenue Park, its two softball fields and dog parks were partly under water.

The forecast could bring even more precipitation as rain is expected to continue through Tuesday. So far in January about 3.11 inches have fallen in Hanford and Lemoore. Since Oct.1 the area has received about six inches of rain ahead of last year’s totals and the normal totals for this time of year.
