West Hills Coalinga holds student art exhibition May 15-19

An art exhibition featuring works produced by West Hills College Coalinga students will be held at the Rodney B. Fitch Library on the WHCC campus from May 15 to May 19.

An opening reception is set for May 16 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the library lobby. The public is welcome to attend. The art exhibit will be available to view during the library’s regular hours of 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

“It showcases the amazing work that our students create and what they actually learn while engaged in our art program,” said art instructor Melissa Holsonbake. “It’s a first step for students pursuing a career in art, because part of doing so is exhibiting your work for the public to enjoy.”

Art on display will range from traditional paintings to drawings produced by students in their art classes and will be available for purchase.
