The City of Lemoore Industrial Park got a new tenant Thursday morning when PG&E broke ground for a new 13,000 square foot service center in Lemoore. The local company already had a presence in Lemoore but has outgrown its existing facilities on currently on 19th Avenue.

The company decided to create a larger presence, consolidating facilities from Coalinga and Lemoore into the new site at 1495 Enterprise Way, adjacent to Olam Foods.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 13 in the Lemoore Industrial Park, located south of Highway 198 and east of Highway 41.

“The Lemoore Service Center project combines the approximately 30 crew and support personnel and resources currently deployed in Lemoore and Coalinga to the new single site near the junction of Highways 41 and 198,” stated PG&E spokesperson Denny Boyles.

The 15-acre site will include an approximately 13,000 square-foot combined operations/warehouse building along with about 10 acres of yard space for company vehicles and critical materials storage.

There were plenty of local dignitaries on hand to help break ground, including PG&E Senior Manager Ann Brooks, Kings County Supervisors Doug Verboon, and Joe Neves, as well as Lemoore Mayor Ray Madrigal.

“Consolidating the two existing facilities will help PG&E respond more efficiently in Kings County which business forecasters say they expect to see the most growth in the coming decades,” stated Boyles.

“I’m very pleased that PG&E has chosen to locate their service center in our industrial park,” said Lemoore Mayor Ray Madrigal. “This will facilitate their ability to serve not just Lemoore but the wider area effectively. It is also a tangible example of our commitment to attracting business and industry to our city.”

Local business representatives were also pleased with the new addition to the Lemoore Industrial Park. “The Chamber is thrilled that PG&E chose Lemoore for their new location,” said Amy Ward. “The thought they put into the location (being nestled between two freeways) and the aesthetically pleasing exterior shows that they value this location and that they were willing to put in the work to make this an asset to Lemoore.

Ward went on to say that PG&E has been a valued chamber member since 1995 and its history in Lemoore demonstrate that it is committed to helping this community thrive, she added.

The site is expected to be completed by 2018.
