Seventh and eighth graders at Hanford Christian School recently volunteered their time at Gleanings for the Hungry, a non-profit charity providing food to those in need in Dinuba.

Gleanings for the Hungry produces over 50 million servings of healthy dried soup mix each year to about 100 countries worldwide.

The local students learned about the goals of the ministry as they opened thousands of packages of dried potatoes destined for use in the nutritious soup mix Gleanings assembles for shipments all over the world.

One of Hanford Christian School's core values is to instill in its graduates that Christian education means more than just the acquisition of knowledge but also a responsibility to be of service to humanity just as Jesus taught.
