The Tigers’ volleyball team beat Golden West on Tuesday (Oct. 24) 3-0 and then turned in an impressive Thursday night performance against Hanford in the West Yosemite League finale to end its regular season, as they prepare for the post-season.

Lemoore took only three games to beat the Bullpups as they prepare for the Central Section playoffs next week. Brackets will probably be announced Sunday.

Thursday was Coach Rachel Taylor’s final league match. The former Lemoore High School basketball and volleyball star is stepping down after eight years at the helm of the Tiger program. “I’ve been coaching at Lemoore High School for eight years and coaching a total of 17 years,” said Taylor who in her tenure won two league championships and a Central Section runner-up.

The Tigers, 17-11 overall and 6-6 in the WYL are assured of a playoff spot.

On Tuesday, the Tigers got eight kills from Shelby Saporetti and four aces from Keel Weedman as they stormed past Golden West in a home match in the Event Center. Lemoore opened with a 25-14 decision and then outlasted the Blazers in the second game 256-24 before storming back with a 25-16 victory in the final game.
