New director Alexis Perez starts job as West Hills College Foundation's director
Perez was selected following a national search and was one of three finalists interviewed. He previously worked as Foundation Manager at Community Medical Centers in Fresno, CA. He has also served as the Director of Data & Information Services for California State University, Fresno.
West Hills Community College District Chancellor Stuart Van Horn is looking forward to working with Perez.
“We are delighted to welcome Alex to the West Hills family,” said Van Horn. “His experience, leadership, and temperament make him the ideal person to lead our philanthropic efforts well into the 21st century. His unique blend of advancement skills, seasoned management experience, and information technology acumen are precisely the skills our foundation board was looking for in a candidate.”
Perez holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and Journalism from California State University Fresno, a Certificate of Fundraising Management from Indiana University, Lilly School of Philanthropy, and a Certified Fundraising Executive credential. He actively volunteers in the community with the Fig Garden Rotary Club, Youth Board Gaming League, and the Shinzen Friendship Garden.
“I am excited to join the innovative and engaging team at West Hills Community College,” said Perez. “I grew up in Coalinga and graduated from Lemoore High School, so it feels a lot like coming home. This position gives me a unique chance to serve the communities that made me who I am.”
