West Hills College Lemoore’s commencement ceremony was held on May 25, with over 300 students participating in a ceremony held in the West Hills College Lemoore Golden Eagle arena.

“Commencement is my favorite time of year,” said WHCL President Dr. Kristin Clark. “It’s the culmination of our students’ hard work, dedication, and perseverance, and we enjoy celebrating their accomplishments.”

Michael Dey served as the student speaker. Dey was the 2017-2018 West Hills College Lemoore Associated Student Body President and was also involved in several other clubs on campus.

During his time at WHCL, Dey was an active member of the Eagle Pantry Club in particular. The club holds food distributions for WHCL students and facilitates Community Food Bank distributions. Dey served as Pantry Coordinator and in other leadership roles in the group.

Student Vanity Renteria sang the national anthem. WHCL Academic Senate President and faculty member Kurt Sterling presented Academic Senate Awards.
