West Hills Lemoore special grants coordinator earns community college kudos

Monica Reynoso, West Hills College Lemoore’s Coordinator of Special Grants, was recently recognized as part of California Community College Student Affairs Association (CCCSAA) and American Student Association of Community Colleges (ASACC) Certified Advisors Training program.

Reynoso participated in three-day training offered by the organizations at Riverside Community College focused on in-depth coverage of topics vital to student leadership group advisors including conflict resolution, managing liability and building strong teams.

Reynoso achieved the Advisor 1 Certification.

“Student success is at the core of everything I do,” Reynoso said. “I am grateful for the opportunity that my college has given me to strengthen a skill that will ultimately benefit the students I serve.”

The American Student Association of Community Colleges has helped to train professionals serving students since 1984. The national organization assists in building skills in leadership, citizenship, and advocacy. Reynosa was one of more than 80 participants from across the country to participate in the training.
