Local announcing legend, Jay Salyer, the school’s football announcer, earned the prestigious Gary Sedgwick Award for volunteering his time to the district.
A posthumous award was awarded to Virginia Wedderburn who ran an aquatics facility, Adventure Sports Unlimited, which taught people to swim, kayak and scuba dive all over the world and later started the Santa Cruz Kayak Surf Festival, one of the largest of its kind in the world.
Jerome Avery was on hand Saturday night and was honored for his gold medal performance in the Paralympic Olympics, helping to guide blind athletes to Paralympic gold medals and other championships.
Tiger alum Jeff Reid, an attorney, and former Fresno City Manager and Undersecretary of the California Business, Transportation and Housing Agency was honored, as was Bobbin Cherrington Mulvaney, the owner of Plates Café, a popular Sacramento and Catering that trains formerly homeless women with children to work in the food industry.
The school's 2005 girls’ tennis team made into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Longtime teacher and coach, Jack Bow coached the team. Players attending Saturday night included Courtney Carreiro, Ruby Rodriguez, Tiffany Mendoza, and Lynzi Lowe. Deanna Edon, Tabitha Koutny, Tiffany Mendoza, Bria Todd, Tracy Urban, and Destri Dickey were unable to attend.
Finally, Lemoore championship wrestlers William Pendleton, Dustin Rocha, and Mark Anderson joined a long stable of wrestling inductees.
