California Community Colleges Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley will be paying a visit to West Hills College Lemoore on Thursday, Nov. 29. The trip is part of a series of events to gather feedback as the system implements its “Vision for Success” plan, which aims to improve student outcomes and close achievement gaps.

Chancellor Oakley will engage with faculty, staff, students and the community at each stop, including during a town hall session to be held at 5 p.m. on the 29th at the West Hills College Lemoore Golden Eagle Arena.

“The West Hills Community College District is delighted to host Chancellor Oakley’s Central Valley listening tour,” said Dr. Kristin Clark, President of West Hills College Lemoore. “We invite our partners, including local colleges, K-12 districts, business and industry, and other community organizations, to join us at the town hall at 5:00 p.m. in the Golden Eagle Arena.  Our region is dedicated to promoting educational attainment and economic development, and I am certain that Chancellor Oakley is interested in learning more about the great work we do here in the Central Valley.”

Oakley will address state changes in the funding formula, his vision for the community college system and more. He will also tour the campus throughout the day, have lunch with college leadership, meet with students and engage in a faculty meet and greet.

Community members are invited and encouraged to attend the town hall meeting at 5 p.m. in the Golden Eagle Arena, 555 College Avenue, Lemoore.
