Kings County agency seeks representatives to serve on transit needs advisory council

The Kings County Association of Governments (KCAG) announced this week that it is recruiting representatives for the Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) to review and comment on the transit needs of the elderly, disabled, and persons of limited means.

The review comes during the annual process for allocating Transportation Development Act (TDA) funds. The SSTAC also advises the transportation planning agency on any other major transit issues, including the coordination and consolidation of specialized transportation services.

The term of appointment shall be for three years, which may be renewed for an additional three-year term.

SSTAC members are to represent public transit users who are either elderly, disabled or a person of limited means. They also represent public transit providers, social service providers, and social service agencies that provide services to these transit dependent groups, as well as interested citizens.

If anyone is interested in serving, please contact the KCAG officer or download the application from the KCAG website at www.kingscog.org and submit your application to:
