Lemoore High School’s traditional purple and gold had a definite pink tint Tuesday night during the Lemoore varsity boys’ basketball game against Golden West High School. The pink came courtesy of the school’s annual “Pink Out” game held to raise funds for the fight against cancer.
The basketball team and its booster club managed to raise over $1,000 Tuesday night in the fight against cancer. Volunteers spread throughout the bleachers Tuesday accepting donations. Cancer survivor and Lemoore High teacher, Lori Luna was on hand to cheer on the effort.
Those who still wish to donate may do so by accessing a fundraising web site.
During their warmups, the boys’ team donned pink warm-up jerseys. By the way, the Tigers defeated Golden West 57-45 to hold on to first place in the West Yosemite League and make the event all that more memorable.
All funding goes to the fight against breast cancer, research, detection methods, screening, and treatment.
