Lemoore High School’s Tiger Stadium was once again the site of this year’s annual Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s ongoing effort to battle the scourge of cancer. It was a day of walking laps around the stadium’s all-weather track and during an evening ceremony, honoring survivors and those lost to cancer with the lighting of Luminaria.
For weeks prior to the event – and during – teams and individuals have raised money a variety of ways throughout the community, from bake sales to car washes and social media posts. According to the Relay for Life website, over 30 teams participated in this year’s event.
The top fundraisers were a pair of teams from the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino, which combined took in approximately $26,700.
