Local racing fans can expect plenty of action Saturday night at Lemoore Speedway
Most of these racers are expected to be in Lemoore Saturday night for racing.
Reigning champion Greg Baronian is anticipated to compete for the top spot again. He was part of a loaded 24-car field that competed in the CVMS race at Hanford in April. Local racer Jason Cook won that event and was chased by a trio of CVMS regulars: Dan Myrick, Randy Brown and Ryan Blank. Blank also finished third at the Lemoore opener in March. Darren Wilson won that race, finishing ahead of Shawn DePriest.
The lure of $5,000 in point-fund money offered by the House of JuJu and Morro Bay is attracting several racers to this group almost ensuring a good turnout Saturday night. Saturday’s champion will win $1,000.
The California Mod Lites division will also be in Lemoore Saturday night. Santa Maria Speedway once had the California Dirt Car division for over a decade. The Mod Lites are a scaled-down version with 1200cc motors, similar to the Dwarf Car division but with the Eastern Dirt Modified look.
Kaden Cochran was the most recent Mod Lites winner, and Roy Maynard finished fourth two weeks ago at Bakersfield Speedway. The two will be in Lemoore on Saturday night and are hoping to collect the hardware this weekend. Cochran finished fifth at Lemoore last time.
General Admission is $10; Seniors and Military are $5. Children 12 and under are free. Grandstands open at 2 p.m., and racing will begin shortly after the opening ceremonies at 5 pm. For further information, go to www.centralvalleyministocks.com.
