The weather was near perfect as parents, siblings, and friends began lining up early to enter Tiger Stadium in anticipation of the 8 p.m. starting time for Lemoore High School’s 122nd graduation ceremony. The United States Navy even obliged when they sent a pair of their supersonic F/A-18 hornets over a stadium packed by moms, dads, grandparents, friends, and siblings – and of course, the 422 or so grads eagerly anticipating a close to an important chapter of their lives.

This year’s class, educated in part during a pandemic and nurtured by a hard-core group of teachers and staff, walked proudly into Tiger Stadium as they celebrated a major transition in their still-young lives.

Included in the student turnout were 118 honor students as well as the student leaders, including this year’s Valedictorian Emily Viramontes, and Salutatorian Hailey Quassy. Student leadership was there, led by Emily Smith, the Class of 2023 president, and the vice president, Quassy.

Lemoore Union High School District Board members Jason Orton, the board president, and Dr. Guadalupe Solis presented the grads with their hard-earned diplomas.
