Master-at-Arms Oscar Temores widow Bethany is Rep. TJ Cox guest for State of the Union

Cox welcomed Lemoore’s Bethany Temores, the wife of deceased Master-at-Arms Oscar Temores, as his guest for the 2020 State of the Union. Temores died last year at Joint Expeditionary Base Fort Story in Virginia Beach while in the line of duty as a Master-at-Arms. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his wife Bethany and a two-year-old son, Damien.
“People in Washington could learn a lot from the example of Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Oscar Temores who served our country bravely,” said Cox in a statement. “All service-connected families deserve our respect, and we owe it to them to honor the legacy of their loved ones, especially when they lose their lives in the line of duty. It’s a true honor that Bethany accepted my invitation, and I want to thank the entire Temores family for allowing me to honor the legacy of a husband and beloved family member.”
Bethany Temores welcomed the gesture. “I want to thank Representative Cox for his invitation and for recognizing Central Valley military families,” she said.
Temores was only 23 years old when he died while on patrol at the JEB Little Creek Fort Story in Norfolk, Virginia. Following his untimely death, Temores was flown to Naval Air Station Lemoore and escorted with military honors to a funeral home in Hanford.
Oscar Temores was born and raised in the Central Valley and spent the majority of his life in Lemoore.
