Lemoore Police Department seeking volunteers for 23rd Annual Citizens Academy

The Lemoore Police Department is looking for a few good “citizens’ as it prepares for its 23rd Annual Citizens Academy, scheduled to begin April 1, 2020, at the local police department.

The Citizens Academy is a long-running program taught by department members, each highlighting their individual area of expertise, and during the seven-week academy, citizens learn about officer survival, crime scene investigation, DUI enforcement, use-of-force issues, records, and dispatch, as well as narcotics and surveillance.

Academy members ride along in a patrol car at least once to experience firsthand the activities police offices routinely are exposed to and how they handle each situation.

There is no cost to the citizen to attend the academy, just a commitment to attend all required classes. To apply, contact Mark Rogers or go to https://lemoore.com/police/citizens-academy/#more-120 and complete an application.
