Several Kings Christian Crusaders earned East Sierra League honors this past week. For starters, the school’s principal, Kevin Dalafu, who “moonlights” as both the boys’ and girls’ basketball coach, was named the league’s coach of the year.

Dalafu has coached the girls for the past five years and has served as the boys’ coach for the last two years. The boys finished 7-18 on the year while the girls were 5-5 in the league and 8-14 overall.

Junior Laci Rose, who averaged 16.3 points per game, was named the league’s co MVP. Rose had two triple-doubles and also led the team in rebounds (8.9).

Kings Christian's TJ Hudson earned first team honors in the East Sierra League with his 23.9 points per game. Due to injury he played in just 12 games this season.

On the boys’ side, senior TJ Hudson earned a spot on the league’s first team despite playing in only 12 games this year due to a hand surgery. The talented senior scored 23.9 points per game for the Crusaders and tossed in 992 points during his four years at the school. He also had three games this season with 30 points or more.

Junior Hayden Stone found himself on the league’s second team while freshman Alexa Pierce earned second-team honors while sophomore Trinity Del Camp was an honorable mention selection.
