Lemoore Chamber of Commerce events suspended until further notice

The Lemoore Chamber of Commerce announced in a press release Tuesday (March 17) that its office will be closed to the public until further notice. In addition to the office closure, currently, all of its programs, events and ribbon cuttings are also suspected until further notice. This is for the safety of the entire community. However, any member of the public is in need of the Chamber's services, they are asked to contact a chamber representative at the following emails:

To reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 and to align with the recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention and state and local authorities, the Lemoore Chamber of Commerce has made the incredibly difficult decision to suspend/postpone all events until further notice, up to and including our annual Lemoore Days and Pizza Festival that was previously scheduled for mid-April.

This was not an easy decision, but it was one taken out of an abundance of caution. We have consulted with local and national agencies on this very difficult decision. Experts agree that if large gathering events were suspended or changed fort the next few weeks, it could provide a gap that could help curtail the expansion of the virus. Our number one priority is doing our part to keep our county as safe as possible.

Again, please know that we will make every effort to bring back our events as soon as safely possible. We appreciate your patience during this time and support of us being mindful of our entire community’s health. We will continue to monitor the situation and will update the public as we have more information on the status of future events.

Miss Kings County Pageant postponed due to Governor’s executive order

The upcoming Miss Kings County Program scheduled for Saturday (March 14) has been delayed, say organizers of the annual event. It was after a long day of meetings and input from the Miss California Organization and Miss Kings County Organization’s board, and it was decided to postpone this year’s event.

A big part of the final decision was Gov. Gavin Newsome’s executive order regarding events generating more than 250 persons to reduce the spread of COVID-19 as well as guidelines from state and local authorities.

Organizers indicated that it hopes to reschedule in May.
