West Hills District Marketing Department earns gold and bronze awards in National Marketing Awards competition

The West Hills College District earned a prestigious gold medal March 31 for its ongoing efforts to spread the word about the popular community college district in Central California.

The National Council on Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) has singled out the district’s Marketing, Communications and Public Information Office for its work during the past year by honoring it with a pair of national awards.

WHCCD was honored during a telecast ceremony on March 31.

WHCCD took home a bronze medal in Promotional Brand Video-Long Form and gold for best Television/Video Advertising Series, the department’s first-ever national 1st place gold.

“During the awards ceremony, West Hills stood out and was acknowledged for producing quality marketing collateral that stands head-to-head with some of the largest districts and colleges in the nation,” said Amber Myrick, Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Information for the West Hills Community College District. “It is truly an honor to represent the West Hills marketing department, and I am proud to lead such a resourceful, innovative team.”

These were WHCCD’s second and third national awards.

WHCCD was honored in the long-form video category for a long-form video about agriculture in the Central Valley, and the work WHCCD and its agriculture partners are doing for agriculture’s future.

WHCCD earned the gold award for a series of commercials focused on first-generation Hispanic learners.

To earn these honors, WHCCD competed against colleges from across the United States.
