Assemblyman and friends distribute food in Hanford; Kings Lions host food drive
Salas and his friends, including Hanford Police Chief Parker Sever and Kings Community Action Organization’s Jeff Garner, helped distribute food items, including rice, beans, and oil.
It turns out local optometrist and Kings Lions member Jeff Garcia was also helping distribute food Friday afternoon. Garcia, a Kings Lion Club member, also turned up at Saturday’s community food drive where he and more than a dozen LCA and Lions Club members accepted food donations in the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The Kings Lions Club's food drive collected over 7,000 pounds of donated food valued at $5,000 Saturday morning. All of the collected food will be distributed locally to families in need. Lemoore Christian Aid will distribute the donated food from their headquarters at 224 N. Lemoore Ave.
