Kings County, partners with state agencies to offer free mobile COVID-19 testing

The California Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) and the National Guard are partnering with Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH) to offer free mobile COVID-19 testing in Kings County. Starting Monday, September 14, this service will be available through partnerships with employers and trusted community agencies seeking to provide a free and reliable testing resource to the residents of Kings County.

The goal is to test as many essential workers and families as possible, to limit the spread of COVID-19 in these critical infrastructure workplaces and the surrounding community.

Free COVID-19 walk-up testing will be available via self-swab with medical staff overseeing proper technique. The California National Guard will be on-hand to provide logistical support and are deployed in a disaster support capacity.

The mobile unit will have the capacity to test 300-500 people per day. It will be available for scheduling Saturday – Thursday each week, with hours adjusted to meet the needs of employers/employees. Testing is available for adults and children ages two and above.

Testing sites will be booked in advance to serve a specific group of employees, families, and/or members of the surrounding community. On-site assistance for walk-up registration will be provided in both English and Spanish. Advanced registration is also available through www.doineedacovid19test.com.

Minimal personal information will be collected, and there is no citizenship or insurance required to test. If the patient does not have an email, they will be provided a username and password to retrieve results online within 3-5 days. The following schedule will be posted weekly.
