West Hills College District to stick with online instruction in spring semester

Uncertainty related to the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted the West Hills Community College District to decide that West Hills College Coalinga, West Hills College Lemoore, and the North District Center, Firebaugh will continue with mostly remote, online instruction for the spring 2021 semester.

“It is important that we clarify the path for our students for spring 2021,” said WHCCD Chancellor Stuart Van Horn. “If conditions improve in the coming months, we can pivot to more traditional instructional delivery.” The district will also extend virtual, remote services delivery through January 3, 2021. As has been the case since moving to virtual, remote services, staff deemed essential workers as designated by each college president and district executive administrators will be on campus or at the district office performing necessary functions.

“We remain fully confident that, while we may look different in the future, we will emerge a stronger organization in our relentless pursuit of student success,” said Van Horn. The district will continue to update its students, staff, and the public with new updates as they become available.
