KCAG seeks representatives for agency transportation advisory council

Terri King, Executive Director of the Kings County Association of Governments (KCAG), announced that KCAG is actively recruiting representatives for the Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC).

The council reviews and comments on the transit needs of the elderly, disabled, and persons of limited means within the county during the 2021 annual process for allocating Transportation Development Act (TDA) funds for public transit. The SSTAC also advises the transportation planning agency on any other major transit issues, including coordinating and consolidating specialized transportation services.  The appointment term shall be for three years, which may be renewed for an additional three-year term.

SSTAC members represent public transit users who are either elderly, disabled, or a person of limited means; public transit providers; social service providers; and social service agencies that provide services to these transit-dependent groups; and interested citizens.

If you are interested in helping to improve public transit services within the county or know someone who would, please contact the KCAG office or download the “Application for Appointment to KCAG Committees” from the KCAG website at www.kingscog.org and submit your completed application to:
