City of Lemoore Recreation Department Adopt a Planter Program announced

The City of Lemoore Recreation Department has created an “Adopt a Planter” program encouraging the public to invest in the community. Adopters can take pride in enhancing the city’s common areas' beauty and making the community more aesthetically appealing and "sprucing" up the downtown area planters.

To join the program, contact the Lemoore Recreation Department at 907-2045 or 924-6744 to make an appointment to complete an application. The City is asking that each adoptee pick a planter and commit to taking care of it for at least one year. The adoptee donates the plants, weeds the area, and keeps the trash out.

The adoptee will have a sign placed in the planter with his or her name on it as a way to say thank you. Five planters have already been adopted, and the Rec Department hopes that all the planters in the downtown area will be adopted by the Spring.

Who can apply? Families, churches, youth groups, community service organizations, military, businesses, individuals, and anyone who wants to help make Lemoore a better place to live.

The planters' sponsor agrees to buy the materials, plant, and care for the adopted planter or flower fed for a 12-month period. And in return for your investment, a sponsorship sign will be placed in the planter thanking the sponsor for his or her dedication to the community.
