Greater Kings County Chamber of Commerce seeks President/CEO

The Greater Kings County Chamber of Commerce, housed in Lemoore, is seeking applicants for the position of President/CEO. The Chamber also announced that President and Chief Executive Officer Amy Ward has resigned to accept an offer outside the chamber of commerce industry.

Position Summary

The President/CEO provides management for the programs and personnel of the Greater Kings County Chamber of Commerce.  The incumbent shall demonstrate expertise in facilitating strategic plans, member sales, and services, program management, finance and accounting experience, nonprofit operations. Knowledge of economic development and public policy is needed.

Reporting

The President/CEO reports to the Board of Directors in accordance with the organization’s bylaws.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, marketing, or related field.  Related experience will be considered in lieu of academic credentials.
  • Minimum of three years of leadership/management experience in a similarly related business or organization; prior Chamber leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, budgeting, expenditure control, and fundraising.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete work/projects on time.
  • Highly organized with attention to follow up and follow through.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and cooperatively with others, positive attitude.
  • Marketing, sales, and advocacy experience and ability.
  • Ability to understand many aspects of various businesses and industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to use office computer software, including Quick Books.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the general finances of the Chamber and report issues/concerns to the Board of Directors.
  • Establish and follow standard financial practices that ensure organizational soundness, achieves budget targets, sustain operations, and grows capacity for new initiatives.
  • In partnership with the CFO, develop an annual budget for the Chamber’s operations that delineate projected revenues and expenses and a projected net profit, if possible.
  • Develop, lead, and direct Chamber’s fund-raising strategies and capital campaigns.
  • Oversee the management of chamber staff, including hiring, firing, performance reviews, wage and benefits administration (in accordance with approved budget), and general supervision.
  • Coach and develop the internal team to attain consistent, highly effective performance.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, create better business practices and an organizational structure that will optimize performance and operating results.
  • Promote a working environment of excellence, external and internal collaboration, and professional standards for the organization. Build accountability into the culture.
  • Serve as the principal spokesperson and ambassador for the Chamber and represent the Chamber at business and community events, meetings, etc.
