Kings County health officials say Blueprint for Safer Economy to end on June 15

On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) will remove the Blueprint criteria for the State of California and all local health jurisdictions. The action will remove all regulations requiring physical distancing, capacity restrictions and indoor vs. outdoor requirements will be removed.

  • All sectors listed in the current Blueprint Activities and Business Tiers Chart may return to usual operations in compliance with CalOSHA and other statewide agency guidelines and standards with limited public health restrictions, such as masking, testing, and testing or vaccination verification requirements for large-scale higher-risk events.
  • Some public health measures will remain for mega-events, which include 5,000+ people indoors or 10,000+ outdoors. Indoor mega-event attendees will be required to confirm proof of vaccination or negative covid-19 status to attend. Outdoor mega-event attendees will be strongly encouraged to do so.
  • Schools and institutions of higher education should conduct full-time, in-person instruction, in compliance with CalOSHA emergency temporary standards and public health guidelines.
  • Workplaces should promote policies that reduce risk, including improved indoor ventilation, and mask-wearing in indoor and other high-risk settings as well as remote work, when possible, without impacting business operations.
  • Californians and travelers will be subject to any current CDPH and CDC travel restrictions.

"We’re at a place in the pandemic where the requirements of the past can be lifted and State and local officials will be watching COVID-19 cases closely and monitoring for emerging trends," said Edward Hill, Director of the Kings County Department of Public Health (KCDPH). “We encourage Kings County residents to continue following preventative measures that we know are effective at stopping the spread of COVID-19 which include getting vaccinated, cooperating with contact tracers, and testing often if unvaccinated.”
