This week, the Lemoore Union Elementary School District announced that longtime district educator, Ben Luis, has been appointed to serve as the district's new assistant superintendent.

Luis has been a mainstay at the district for 21 years as a teacher and 12 years as Liberty Middle School's principal. He is also a Lemoore High School graduate.

Luis's expertise in curriculum, instruction, and assessment will continue to support the district's goals in ensuring all students learn at high levels, say district officials.

The district is home to a large student population and seven elementary schools, including Liberty Middle School.

The latest school to join the district this year was Freedom Elementary School.
