City of Lemoore closes lobbies to the public citing variety of reasons

The City of Lemoore issued a press release this week indicating that effective December 15, the city’s offices, and their lobbies will be closed to the public. City officials that while they certainly are concerned about a recent rise in COVID-19 cases, the closures, are more the result of short staff, vacations, regular illnesses.

City Manager Nathan Olson told The Leader that while COVID-19 may have been a part of the reason, there were many other reasons to cut back during the holidays, including the implementation of new software, vacations, some regular sicknesses and more.

“You can still make an appointment and come in,” said Olson. “We’re still serving our customers.” He went on to say that shutting the offices down for a while was his decision.

Local citizens may call the city’s various departments for questions. Utility payments can be made online, by phone at 1-844-234-1827, by mailing in a payment, or placing a payment in the city’s  drop box.
