Lemoore state-tourney wrestler and student athlete, seeks funds for summer wrestling trip to Japan
And he’s looking for local support.
McDonald will help represent Team California/United States on its Cultural Exchange Team and will spend 10 days in Japan learning the culture, staying with host families, and wrestling dual matches at the local high school.
McDonald is a junior at Lemoore High School and a two-sport athlete in football and wrestling (he’s the team captain). He’s also a member of the ASB Leadership Class and an FFA member. He carries a 3.6 GPA and has already completed 13 college units at West Hills College Lemoore.
After high school, the young wrestler will either attend college to wrestle or attend the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
This past high school season, the talented wrestler finished ranked in the state’s Top 20 at 115 pounds. He was fourth in Division 1 in the Central Section, 7th at Masters, and of course did well in the CIF State Tourney in Bakersfield.
He was a member of the Cadet National Team and Fargo National Team twice. The trip will cost the young student-athlete about $3,000 for the entire trip and he’s looking for sponsors to help him achieve his goal.
Checks can be made out to Jason McDonald and mailed to 994 Freedom Dr., Lemoore, 93245.
