Lemoore High Choral Program puts on quite a show for Fall Concert
The choral program, nearly 80 students strong, put on quite the show to the delight of the crowded auditorium. It began with performances by the Women’s Choir and Advanced Women’s Choir and ended with a traditional tune entitled “Why We Sing” as this year’s crop of performers was joined by alumni home for the school’s Homecoming Week.
Even Miss Kings County, Bailee Lyles, a 2013 graduate of LHS and the choral program, turned in a solid performance, singing a tune written and performed by Class of 1967 graduate, Steve Perry, a member of the famed rock and roll group Journey.
The Women’s Choir started the evening off with “Laudamus te,” a piece from the 17th Century that it performed flawlessly. The Men’s Choir also got into the act, starting off with a popular tune entitled “We’re the Men of the Chorus.”
California State Honor Choir member, Paige Crownover, proved just why she was a state selection with her rendition of “Cara Mio Ben” and Kayla Leigh followed that with a heartwarming rendition of “Danny Boy.”
Tracy Hannan not only captivated with his “Star Vicino” interpretation, but took up the baton and guided the men’s chorus for a number.
