A capacity crowd cheered a large contingent of Lemoore High School grads Thursday night in Tiger Stadium in the annual rite of passage known as commencement. It was a standing room only crowd that witnessed an impressive display of pageantry, that began with a United States Navy fly over featuring a pair of FA-18 Hornets and then culminating with a fireworks display. There were 16 teams vying for Lemoore's "best designed" pizza at Saturday's annual "Pizza Making" contest in Lemoore City Park. The 16th annual contest was sponsored this year by the Educational Employees Credit Union and when all the votes were tallied, a team from Olam won with the best designed pizza. The team of Glenda Marroquin, Pamela Muncy, Tameka Lewis, Melanie Griffard and Virginia Lowe were awarded a $200 prize by EECU judges. Keep reading...
