It seems as if every spook, goblin, wookie, and superhero was at South Valley Community Church Saturday night as the local church opened its grounds and doors for a gathering of Halloween revelers, parents, and youngsters of all ages. While no official records were kept, the party-goers attending the annual Harvest Festival numbered in the high hundreds as ghosts and goblins enjoyed music, cotton candy, treats and plenty of games. West Hills College District Chancellor Frank Gornick recommended Kristin L. Clark, Ed. D. as the new president of the Lemoore campus, and the board of trustees, at its regular meeting held Tuesday at West Hills College Lemoore, approved the choice. Clark currently is the Vice President of Student Services at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. Gornick is scheduled to recommend her to the Wests Hills Community College District Board of Trustees as the new president for West Hills College Lemooore. Keep reading...
The search for a new college president for West Hills College Lemoore has been narrowed down to three well qualified educators, one from California, one from Oregon, and one from Texas. A decision is expected at any time following a public gathering on Sept. 10 at the West Hills College Lemoore Presentation Center where all three were asked questions and told the small audience of their qualifications for the job. In May, Lemoore resident Riley Jones, facing a seriously declining water well, asked the Lemoore City Council for permission to hook up to the city’s water supply. The council will consider his request at Tuesday’s council meeting where it will most likely approve a water service connection agreement, allowing him to receive city water. Keep reading...
