Heavy rains in the morning left Tiger Stadium a bit soggy but that didn't stop hundreds of Relay for Life enthusiasts from attending the annual Relay for Life, held this past weekend. Numerous organizations and clubs set up booths and field teams of walkers and runners to help promote cancer awareness and raise funds for research.

A year ago, local community organizers sponsored an event called “Kicking for Kenya,” which they hoped would be an annual event to help a community center in Nairobi, Kenya with soccer balls and sports equipment. It was indeed a difficult night for Lemoore's talented varsity boys' basketball team. The Tigers, who split their season series with the Bullpups, traveled to Hanford on Friday and suffered a disappointing 65-39 loss and fell from the Division II playoffs. The Tigers finished 20-7 on the year and were 11-1 in the West Yosemite League to tie Hanford for the league championship.
Lemoore High School District teams dominated Saturday’s central California VEX League Tournament as the Lemoore Middle College High School team took top honors. Finishing a close second was a team from Lemoore High School. Keep reading...

While they didn't complete a perfect West Yosemite League campaign, Lemoore's boys' basketball team will share the league crown with Hanford after the Bullpups held off a fierce first-half comeback by the Tigers to win 54-42. The Tigers will learn who they will face in the Central Section Division II playoffs Saturday afternoon when the playoff pairings are announced.

The Lemoore High School Choir put on its latest annual extravaganza Friday night at the South Valley Community Church. The program included songs and performances from all the program's various choral groups. the choir program is also planning a trip to Washington D.C. later this school year. The Lemoore Chamber of Commerce, at his annual 57th Annual Installation and Awards Banquet Saturday night honored longtime teacher and coach, Bob Clement, as its 2015 Citizen of the Year. Joining Clement this year as special honorees were Families and Schools Together (FAST) credit union as the Business of the Year and the Kings Lions Club, a relative newcomer to the community, as this year’s Organization of the Year. The Lemoore girls’ soccer team may have kicked off its West Yosemite League season with a 1-0 loss to visiting Redwood High School on Tuesday, but it scored big in another way.
