The West Hills College Lemoore women's basketball team is on a roll.

The Lady Golden Eagles, in only their third year of existence, won the Moorpark Tournament this past weekend, rolling over favored College of the Canyons Sunday night 64-57 in the finale.

The Golden Eagles beat a team that came into the tournament ranked 11th in the state. The Lady Eagles Samantha Earls was the tourney's Most Valuable Player. Joining her on the all-tournament team were teammates Jayla English and Kalia Parker.

West Hills Lemoore improved its overall record to 9-3 on the year.

The Golden Eagles opened the tournament on Friday by soundly thrashing Oxnard College 58-42. On Saturday  the ladies beat Citrus College 57-46 to earn a spot in the finals against College of the Canyons.

The Lady Golden Eagles will try to make it two tournaments in a row as they host the West Hills Golden Eagle Classic, which begins this week, Dec. 19 through 21 in the Golden Eagle Arena.
