West Hills Lemoore Golden Eagles keep pace with Rams but fall 74-68 in final minutes

The state's 18th ranked community college women's basketball team came to the Golden Eagle Arena Wednesday night and West Hills College Lemoore gave the Fresno City College Rams just about all they could handle. The Rams withstood a late charge by the Eagles and point guard Samantha Earl to beat WHC 74-68 in Central Valley Conference action.

The Golden Eagles fell to 15-7 overall and 3-3 in CVC play. The Golden Eagles hope to get back on the winning track Saturday night when they host Porterville College.

Earl scored 21 points for West Hills Lemoore including 17 second-half points. Kalia Parker and Kim Alfors each had 12 points in the contest.

Earl scored 10 first half points and 15 in the second as the Eagles broke open the game. The Blue Devils managed to cut the gap somewhat with about two minutes left in the game, but the Lady Eagles went on a scoring blitz to complete the victory.
