Lemoore’s vaunted boys’ basketball team will go for 11-0 in the West Yosemite League when it hosts Golden West Friday night in the Event Center. The Tigers stayed perfect with a come-from-behind 55-49 win over El Diamante on the Miners’ home court.

The Tigers improved to 18-5 on the season to go along with their unblemished record in the WYL.

The Tigers fell behind early and stayed that way most of the game, finally erupting in the final minutes to blitz the Miners with some hot shooting and key plays. Roger Wilson finished with 18 points

In Lemoore Wednesday night, the Lemoore varsity girls outlasted the Miners 65-52 in a game the Miners refused to yield. After leading by as much as 21 points in the fourth period, El Diamante suddenly got hot from the 3-point arc and cut the gap to 10 points at 54-44 with about three minutes left in the game.

Dani Kinder connected on a short jumper and Bobbie Henry and Jazmyne Taylor team for a nifty steal and pass underneath the basket that put some distance between them and the Miners.

Henry led all scorers with 15 points while Katelyn Cole had 10 points.
