Tiger baseball improves to 12-1 on season, will face powerful Redwood Wednesday

The Tigers haven’t had this kind of streak in years. Lemoore’s vaunted baseball team keeps right on rolling along, On Friday, Lemoore took two non-league wins over Fowler, and earlier on Wednesday, beat Hanford West 5-3 to open the West Yosemite League on a high note.

Overall the Tigers are 12-1 as they prepare for Wednesday’s encounter with powerful Redwood High School in Visalia. Game time is 4:15 p.m. on the Redwood diamond.

On Friday the Tigers opened with a 7-6 victory over Fowler and won the double header with a 5-2 victory in the nightcap.

Against Hanford West the Tigers opened with three runs in the first, but West scored a run in each of the first three innings to tie the game. Lemoore erupted for two runs in the bottom of the fourth and held on to win the game.

Bristol Hitchman was the big spark for the Tigers, belting a 2-RBI triple in the opening frame to put the Tigers up early. Steve Allison also came up big for Lemoore, going 2 for 3 with an RBI. Jack Foote continues to bat well, coming up with a pair of hits and an RBI.

Austin Murietta went the distance for the Tigers, giving up just three hits, two walks and striking out five West batters.
