The Kings Lions Club celebrated the conclusion of its second year of existence with its third annual Charter Night, held Saturday night (Oct. 24) at the Lemoore Senior Citizens Complex. About 100 persons dined on perfect steaks, drank wine, and had a thoroughly good time.
One of the highlights of the evening was the induction of the club’s newest member, Eva Pimentel, who after dinner, was welcomed to the club by President Ray Etchegoin. The Kings County Sea Cadets were also on hand to administer the colors.
The Lions also bid a fond farewell to their “Guiding Lions” who have been with them the past two years as they helped the new club navigate toward respectfulness. Bill and Carrie Diltz, from long established Lions’ clubs, helped the local club this past two years.
The Kings Lions, in addition to a major “Brewfest” it organizes annually in June, is a past Lemoore Chamber of Commerce Organization of the Year and contributes to a number of organizations and activities through the year. For example, just this past year, the Kings Lions held the first annual Lemoore Easter Egg Hunt in Stratford and also spent considerable time assisting the Lemoore Senior Citizens.
